A Road Map for Life, Series 1

Psalm 16. When "the lights go out" in life it is easy to get confused, frustrated, fearful. How will you respond in the night seasons? Remember that God works the night shift and often gives the greatest light in the darkest times.

Psalm 15. In this powerful psalm God identifies the life that He will bless. Few talk about holiness today but that is what God is looking for in every generation - people who live in His holy presence!

Psalm 14. This psalm will help you know how to answer those around you who say there is no God. But there is more...it will help you to deal with the practical atheism that can creep into our own daily living! Only God's truth can deal with the atheist.

Psalm 13. Discouraged people usually overstate their problems. We groan to ourselves and grumble to others. Do what David did and you will turn your sigh into a song!

Psalm 12. This psalm continues the theme of the previous one. There are four things God's people can do in a changing world and difficult circumstances. Follow this pattern and you will not be blown away!

Psalm 11. When it seems that the world is shaking and others are shifting we must go back to what we know for sure. Our foundation is not going to move! Use this psalm to check your faith today and be sure your trust is in the God who never changes.

Psalm 10. When bad things happen to good people we all wonder why. The psalmist shows us what to do with our why! Bring your complaint and concern to the One who can do something about it. This is a prayer you can pray for yourself or for someone that you know who is hurting.

Psalm 9. Do you ever get tired of hearing so much bad news? Scripture not only describes the wicked world in which we live, it gives us some good news from our God! Look at current events through the lens of this Word from the Lord.

Psalm 8. One of the most beautiful psalms ever written points us both to nature and to the Messiah. The Creator is the Christ! As we walk through these few verses we look around us to the world that God created and then we look up to the God who came to earth as a man.

Psalm 7. It is easy to be hurt when others say things that are unkind and untrue about us. In this psalm we find three things we can do when we are slandered. You cannot control what others say but you must control how you respond.

Psalm 6. This is the first of several psalms of repentance. Repentance is a way of life and those who want to stay close to God must learn to deal with their sin every day. David shows us how.

Psalm 5. You may not be a "morning person" but you can learn to make the most of the morning hours. In this study we examine several things you can do in the early hours to begin your day with God.

Psalm 4. Did you know that how you end your day has much to do with you will begin the next day? Today we discover this biblical principle and discuss some practical ways to end your day with God.

Psalm 3. When everything seems to be against you and everyone seems to be talking about how bad it is, that is a good time to remember that God is for you! This psalm will help you to rehearse the truth that God is greater and you are on the winning side.

We praise the Lord for the good things we have received. Have you ever considered all of the evil that you have never received? He is at work in both giving and preventing. Thank God for what you have never seen!

While there are many things for which we should be grateful there is one thing that should be at the top of that list. Thank God most of all for those things that are spiritual and eternal. Thank God for Jesus.

God chooses and uses people in all of our lives to help us become what He desires. Identify those people. Thank God for them every day, and never forget to pray for them.

Every blessing in life can be boiled down to God's mercy. Never get over the mercy of God. It is perenially fresh and never ending.

Begin to list the blessings of God. "Count your many blessings; name them one by one!" Each gift is a revelation of the Giver.

Praise is one of the most powerful things in the world. It causes us to see God for who He is and it helps us show Him to others. Learn to be a person of praise.

Thanksgiving and repentance are connected in Scripture. Both help us to see and respond to the goodness of God. Consider today God's goodness to you and your heart toward Him.
